Description

We would like to distribute release 1.3.0 via anonymous svn checkout, rather than download. This will help rolling out patches, as the users only have to run an svn update on their working copy. What is the status of Hepforge concerning this issue, has ​http:// access been made available?

Current options are:

  • We allow anonymous http checkouts for certain parts of the repository (i.e. the 1.3.0 branch). This means making the repository directory world readable on h6 in order to grant access to the webserver. Therefore anybody with a Hepforge account could make a copy of the repository and then make checkouts from his copy.
  • We don't make the repository directory world readable. This means there is no anonymous http checkout, either.

After our EVO discussion we postpone this until Hepforge infrastructure can handle our requirements.
