Description
I try to set up selectors for a crude VBF selection with one jet in addition i.e. pp->Higgs+2 quark tag jets plus a gluon This runs in a couple of hours at 7+7TeV but at 3.5+3.5 the full optimization looks like it will converge in a few hours but then changes its estimate to a thousand days, and over the course of the next couple of days of running increases that estimate to 3000 days.
It seems very odd that this runs fine at one energy but not another...

Dear User,
Note that you are missing a DeltaR cut on the gluon vs. the quarks in your input file. You could e.g. incorporate this by using 93 instead of 94 in all cuts affecting QCD partons. In case of further questions, please reopen the ticket and add your email address to the cc-field, so you can receive updates.
Best

Thanks for your report, it sounds odd indeed.
Before one of us starts looking into it, can I just verify that you really want to do what the Run.dat specifies: You are not using any ME+PS merging for the VBF events, but generate an exclusive sample with one additional gluon in the final state. Is that on purpose?
Cheers,
Frank
